On the afternoon of March 25, 2023, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang had a group meeting in Beijing with visiting friendly organizations and individuals from the business community of the United States.

Qin Gang welcomed the visit of US friendly organizations and individuals from the business community in this warm spring. Qin Gang said that President Xi Jinping was re-elected unanimously at the first session of the 14th National People's Congress, and China will maintain the stability and consistency of its major policies and guidelines. China will continue to advance high-level opening up, and be more open to the world. China has pressed the "resumption button" for its economy and society, and is expecting a strong recovery. These are three boons for the US business community. Regrettably however, China-US relations are still chilly this spring.

Qin Gang pointed out that the China-US relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. The world will benefit from a sound China-US relationship; otherwise, the world would suffer. China has not changed its position on developing a sound, stable, and constructive China-US relationship, and always advocates that China and the US should respect each other, coexist in peace, and pursue win-win cooperation. The US should meet China halfway to develop a sound China-US relationship. China hopes that the US will discard the zero-sum mentality, stop containing and suppressing China by all means, and work with China to overcome current difficulties and bring the China-US relationship back on the track of sound and steady development. The US enterprises are welcome to continue to expand investment and do business in China, and China is ready to provide a better business environment for enterprises from the US and other countries.

The visiting US side said that on this visit, they have been deeply aware of the vigor and vitality of China's economic and social development, and also felt keenly the Chinese people's expectations for the development of the US-China relationship. The US and China are interdependent, and the current US-China relationship is in a crucial period. The US business community supports the sound development of the US-China relationship and maintaining the stability of bilateral relations, and remains committed to preventing the two countries from falling into the trap of mutual isolation and conflicts. They welcomed increasing face-to-face engagement between the US and China, and expressed the hope that flights between the US and China will be further increased, so as to promote exchanges between both countries in various communities, and deepen bilateral cooperation in economy, trade and investment.
